Michelle"s Confession Part 2...(S3-E7)

It's the morning after the Halloween Party. Michelle and Laura are up and already eating some breakfast. The sisters are sitting quietly until Laura breaks the silence.

*Laura* "So how did you sleep last night?"

*Michelle* "Good."

*Laura* "Have you thought about when you are going to tell Benjamin the truth?"

*Michelle* "Um...I...don't know....."

*Laura* "What? So your not gonna tell him? You can't avoid him forever."

*Michelle dodges the question* "Yeah I know but I don't want to talk about Benjamin right now. I'm curious about Luke and all those tats.  I had no idea Luke has some many.  Does Mom and Dad know that almost his whole body is covered in them?" 

*Laura* "I never exactly told them how many he has,  it' not something that's came up really.  Plus you know Mom she would probably freak out."

*Michelle* "Yeah, and he is so opposite of the guys you used to date."

*Laura* "That is true, but that's the main reason I fell in love with him. He is not like all the other guys I dated. Luke's tattoos make him different and they tell a story of his life before...."

Luke comes downstairs moaning and groaning with a hangover from last night.

*Luke* "Ugh crap!! I shouldn't have drank that last beer."

Laura points to the coffee pot and tells him to make himself a cup.  She gets up to make him a plate of food.

*Luke drinks his coffee* "I heard my name were you two talking about me?"

*Michelle strait to the point* "Yeah we were.  I was asking Laura about your tats.  I had no idea you have that many."

*Luke* "Yeah, I got a lot of 'em.  Each one is from a different city back when I was traveling with several different bands. I'd probably have more if I was still touring. I just kinda stopped  getting them when I left the business."

*Michelle* "That's right you used to hang out with rock stars. That must have been a lot of fun. Why did you stop? Oh! And who was the most popular band you traveled with?"

*Laura* "Michelle, what's with the twenty questions?"
*Luke* "Babe, its okay. She's just curious."
*Michelle* "Yeah, plus it's keeping my mind off other things."
*Luke continues* " Well, I traveled the most with the Band Rock Candy."

*Michelle* "Rock Candy! I love that band High School. Do you know Rufus Blue?"

 *Laura walks over to fold the bedding on the couch. She is not happy with where this conversation is going*

*Luke turns to look at her* "C'mon Babe! Why do let it get to you.? All that stuff happened before I even met you."

*Michelle* "Oooo! What is it!?...Now I really want to know."

*Luke spits his words out quickly* "I dated Rufus for several years."

*Michelle jumps* "What!? No way! 

*Luke not sure if he should continue*  "I almost married her too."

*Michelle* "Again.... What!? Oh my god....Laura why do let it bother you so much. He could have married a rock star but didn't. Instead he is here with you!"

*Laura keeping herself busy* "Just let him finish and you'll see why. I threw out all my Rock Candy albums after I found out."

*Luke* "Babe, come here. She is never going to come between us. It's done and over you know that. I haven't seen her for nearly 2 years."

*Michelle* "So why did you leave? Was she psycho or something?"

*Laura gestures for him to continue* "Well, you've already told her this much...."

*Luke sighs* "I almost married her because she got pregnant."

*Michelle shocked* "No!? So you have a kid with Rufus Blue of Rock Candy?"

 *Luke stops her* "Um..to make a long story short. No I don't.  One day she tells me she is pregnant and wants to get married before the baby is born.  I agreed to marry her but I guess with all the stress of touring.  Plus we began arguing about all of it. Well, she ended up loosing the baby.  So I took it as a sign to get the hell out of there.  I really wasn't ready to get married. "

Luke looks up at Laura making her feel reassured that he loves her and only her.

*Luke* "Within a week I was out of there and I moved down here. Then about a year later I met your sister."

*Michelle* "Awww! You two are so sweet...."

*Luke* "Now it's my turn. Why were you so upset last night? Girls, are usually happy when a guy tells them he's in love with them."

*Michelle lets out a sigh* "Fair enough. *She spits out the words in one long breath* I only started dating Benjamin because I had intentions of getting him to fall for me so I could get revenge on him for crushing Penelope's heart."

*Luke nearly chokes on his breakfast* "Holy Sh*t!! Are you effing kidding me!? Remind me not to get on your bad side!"

 Michelle freaks out and starts crying. She just did not expect him to react that way he did.

*Michelle* "Oh god! He is gonna hate me if I tell him the truth."

*Laura* "Oh sweetie, no, no. Don't say that."

*Luke* "Michelle..."

*Laura stops him* "Luke..don't. You said enough."

*Luke* "I'm sorry. I just wasn't expecting her to say something like that.  Michelle,  hey I'm sorry you just caught me off guard with that."

Michelle wipes her tears and looks up. 

 *Michelle* "It's okay, Luke.  I think I deserved that reaction."

*Luke* "If it makes you feel any better. I would want to know the truth.  Relationships can get complicated real fast. The truth is always the best. And the sooner the better."

*Laura* "I agree. You should call him right now and plan a time where you can sit down and talk to each other. I can reserve you a table at my restaurant."

*Luke* "That's a good idea, Babe. Yeah somewhere public would be best. Even though Benjamin can annoy me sometimes. I think he does really care about you. Besides you don't want to get a bad rep as the vengeful ex-girlfriend. Like Wayne said to Garth 'If you blow chunks and she comes back, she's yours. But if you spew and she bolts, then it was never meant to be."
*Laura* "Ew!! Luke that's gross. How is that encouraging?"
*Luke* "What?! I love that movie! Plus, it makes sense....."

*Michelle lets out a small giggle* "Yeah, it does make sense. But it's the lamest analogy ever."
*Luke* "Hey,...just trying to make you feel better."

*Laura admires him for trying* "Well, I think you should go ahead and call him right now. Luke and I will go upstairs and give you some privacy."

Michelle takes their advice and calls him. She can only hope that he will be able to forgive her and move on. The phone rings but he doesn't answer.

  So she sends him a text message.

"Hey! I really need to talk to you about what happened last night. Can u meet up to talk?"

He texts her back right away.

"Where r u at?"

Michelle replies.

"Im at my sisters place. I spent the night here..."

She waits for his reply.

"ok. I'll pick u up in an hour."

Nervously she replies back.

"ok"

Laura comes back downstairs to see if her sister made the call.

*Laura* "So? Did you call him? What did he say?"

*Michelle* "I texted him. He is coming to pick me up in an hour."

*Laura* "Well, that doesn't give us much time. Come on I gotta find you something to wear."

The girls head up stairs. Luke has already left to go to work for the day. Michelle is standing in the mirror and checking out what Laura picked for her to wear.

*Michelle* "Mmmm I don't know. You don't think this is too sexy?"

*Laura* "No way! The sexier the better. That way he is a little distracted when you tell him the truth."
*Michelle* "You don't think it's too distracting?"

 *Laura looks her over* "No. All you need now is  some jewelry to finish it."

They finish getting ready and make their way back downstairs to wait for Benjamin to show up.

Laura cleans up the kitchen while they wait.

*Michelle* "Where is he? It's been more than an hour now."

*Laura* "I'm sure he'll be here soon."

A couple more minutes pass and the doorbell finally chimes.

*Laura* "Well, go on answer the door. He is here for you after all."

Michelle answers the door and lets Benjamin inside.

Laura gets her purse together while Michelle and Benjamin say hello to each other.

Both of them feeling a little awkward after what happened last night.

*Benjamin* "Hey! you ready to go?"

*Michelle* "Um..yeah. Let just grab my bag."

  Michelle walks over to the table where her sister is standing

*Michelle* "Wish me luck!"

*Laura* "It'll be fine... and call me if you want a table at Ma Cherie."

*Michell* "I will. Thanks for being there for me last night."

*Laura* "Michelle you don't have to thank me.  I love you and I want you to be happy."

*Michelle* "I know....I just hope we can be happy. Just like you and Luke are. I can see he truly loves you."

*Laura blushes* "Well....you better go on and find out. He's waiting for you."

Laura waves to Benjamin and tells him to take good care of her sister. He promises that he will and that he will make sure to get her home safely. Benjamin takes Michelle by the hand and leads her out the door. His touch is making Michelle feel nervous about telling him. On the other hand Michelle is feeling a little more confident after talking to her sister last night. Plus listening to Luke's crazy story and how he would feel about being lied to also helped. Benjamin is anxious to hear why she got so upset when he told her he loved her. He thought she would have felt the same way he did.  But then again maybe she is just as afraid as he is when it comes to committing yourself to someone. He has never been afraid of being rejected by a girl before 
until now.....

See how Benjamin reacts to what Michelle needs to tell him.

Michelle's Confession Part 1...(S3-E6)

A little later that evening at Luke and Laura's.  All the guests have left  and gone home and Laura is putting away the last few beers into the fridge.

Of course Luke has already changed out of his Halloween costume and is ready for bed.  He has come back downstairs to see what Laura is up to.

*Luke* "Babe, that's good enough it's late lets go to bed."

*Laura* "I just need to finish this, then I will head upstairs."
  Luke wraps his arms around her and kisses her neck.

*Laura giggling* "You're not gonna let me finish this are you?"

*Luke still kissing her neck* "Um, no."

She turns to face him and Luke leans in and kisses her.

Laura concedes and sets the beer on the table behind them.

And Luke doesn't hesitate. The two quickly become entangled in each others arms. Luke twirls her around and leads her toward the stairs. 

*Laura* "Luke, what are you doing, here?.... on the stairs?"

*Luke* "I don't think I'm gonna make it up the stairs, Babe. I have been wanting to get you out of that dress all evening."
*Laura* "But I'm still wearing the dress....It's gonna get wrinkled."

And just like that their moment is broken by the ringing of the doorbell.
*Luke* "Ah! You gotta be kidding me. Damn! Who the hell could that be?"
*Laura* "Calm down....Someone probably just left something here."

Laura gets up to go see who is at the door. She looks through the peek hole and sees that it is her sister Michelle. 
*Laura* "It's my sister. She's alone and she looks upset."
So Laura opens the door to see why her sister is there. Luke grabs yet another beer. He doesn't have a good feeling about why she is here.

 Michelle walks in and her eyes are red from crying.
*Laura* "Michelle, what happened did Benjamin dump you?"
*Michelle sobbing* "No.  He told me that he is in love with me."

 *Laura* "Really?! Come on in and sit down. You can tell me what happened."
Luke is coming to the realization that his wonderful end to an evening is officially over. He also realizes that he was the one that put these events into motion. Luke mutters to himself "Ah crap!"
*Laura* "Did you say something?"
*Luke* "No..its nothing, Babe." 

Michelle is so upset and embarrassed she doesn't even want to acknowledge that Luke is there. She turns and sits on the couch and Laura leans in to speak to him.

*Laura in a hushed voice* "I think you better head off to bed without me. We might be here awhile."
*Luke whispers back* "I figured that. What I don't get is why is she upset?"
*Laura shrugs her shoulders* "I don't know."
She gives him a quick kiss and he heads upstairs to give them some privacy to talk.

*Laura* "Talk to me. What happened?"
*Michelle* "Well....I went outside after we talked to go see what had happened.  Benjamin looked quite upset and at first I thought he was mad at the guys for teasing him about our bet. Then he completely does a 180 and tells me he is in love with me. At first I thought he was joking and that the guys put him up to it."
*Laura* "Why did you think the guys put him up to it."
*Michelle* "Because he kissed me! And it was not just any kiss. I mean a real kiss. A make you weak in the knees kiss."

*Laura* "Oh! Wow! But I still don't get why this upsets you. What did you do after he kissed you?"
*Michelle* "After he kissed me that's when I asked him if he was doing all this to prove something to the guys."
*Laura* "And? What did he say?"
*Michelle* "He didn't say much. He was going to kiss me again. I could see in his face he wasn't lying. That's when I freaked and then I just took off."
*Laura* "What! Took off where? Did he try to stop you?"
*Michelle* "Yeah, he tried to stop me. He wanted to take me home. I told him I would call Penelope to pick me up."
*Laura* "Did you call Penelope?"
*Michelle* "I was going to. I made it all the way to the Drug Store that is right outside your neighborhood. I couldn't bring myself to call her so I double backed it over here hoping that everyone had left already."
 *Laura* "Michelle, that is nuts. You should have called here I could have come and got you."
*Michelle* "Yeah, I thought about it but I just needed some time to think alone."
*Laura* "What I still don't get is why did you freak out? A guy tells you he loves you and you run. Why? I thought you cared about him?"
 *Michelle a tear trickles down* "I do and that's the problem.  This bet I started with him  was because of what he did to Penelope."
*Laura* You.. did...Wait, Michelle? Were you trying to get back at him for hurting Penelope?"

*Michelle wiping tears* "Yes! I was so angry at him for what he did. When I came back home from school. Penelope was so miserable and I just wanted him to see how it felt."
*Laura* "Oh my god! So you planned this out from that first day you met him at the BBQ?"
*Michelle sighs * "Yeah, I was finally able to convince him to go in on that bet with me. At first I thought for sure he would have gave up but then after a month or so he just kept going along with it. So I did too."
*Laura* "I sorta get why you did it Michelle but was it worth it? Penelope eventually got over it and moved on. So what was really in it for you? Are you happy you got revenge?"
Michelle starts sobbing again realizing her sister is right. She had put up walls around her heart so that Benjamin couldn't hurt her. Because her mission was to hurt him. But those walls came down the moment he told her he loved her. 

 *Laura* "If you really care about Benjamin then you have to tell him the truth. Because it's obvious you care about him and I think his feelings are real for you as well. "
*Michelle* "But what if he hates me?"
*Laura* "Sweetie,  you know that is a risk your gonna have to take. He may forgive you or he may feel betrayed by what you did."

 *Laura* "It'll be okay. You'll get past all of this one way or another. How about you stay here tonight it's late and we haven't spent a lot of time with each other since you came back home."
*Michelle* "Okay. Plus, I don't think I could deal with Mom right now either."
*Laura* "Speaking of Mom you call her and let her know you are staying here with me tonight. Otherwise she'll start to worry where you are. I am gonna go and get us a blanket and some pillows.  *Laura smiles at her* It'll be like when we were kids just you and me talking about boys."
*Michelle smiles back at her* "Yeah but those days were so less complicated."
Laura heads upstairs to get some stuff for their sleepover. She also lets Luke know not to wait up for anymore since Michelle is staying over and Laura is going to be downstairs for the night.

*Luke* "Hey, so what happened?"
*Laura* "Michelle is spending the night. I'm gonna stay down stairs 
with her she is still very upset."
*Luke* "Why is she so upset? Shouldn't she be happy?"
*Michelle* "I'll fill you in tomorrow. Right now she is still trying to work through what just happened tonight. Goodnight!!."
*Luke* "Goodnight Babe..."

 Laura heads back downstairs to make up the sofa bed for her and her sister.

*Laura* "Okay I got us some Pj's and a blanket and pillows. Did you call mom?"

*Michelle*"Sorta, I sent her a text message. I was too scared to call her. She might sense I'm upset just by talking to me on the phone and then I'll start crying all over again."

*Laura* "Yeah, Mom has a sixth sense when it comes to that. Did she text you back?"

*Michelle* "No, not yet they are probably already asleep."

*Laura* "You know what, she probably has her cell phone turned off. I'll call her on the home phone."

*Michelle* "Laura, it's okay I text Mom all the time when I am gonna stay out late."

*Michelle* "You do? Okay... Well let's get ready for bed. I do still need to go in to work tomorrow. So I need to get some sleep."

 Laura gets in the bed and gets comfortable while Michelle finishes getting in her pj's. 
*Michelle* "I'm sorry but did I interrupt you and Luke? I mean he didn't seem too happy to see me."
*Laura* "Don't worry about it. He's fine. In fact I think he feels a little bad about pushing Benjamin to much. Him and Cruz were both teasing him apparently."
Michelle turns off the light and crawls into the bed.

  *Michelle* "Men, they can be so cruel to each other."
*Laura* "Yeah, but maybe this was a good thing. I can't believe you had strung him along this far. So what was the bet exactly?"
*Michelle* "Well, we never laid down any exact rules but basically it restricted him from making any moves on me. We were pretty much friends 'without benefits'."
*Laura* "Ha! Wow, so all that arguing we had about you hooking up with Benjamin was pointless?"
*Michelle* "Um, yeah. We have really only kissed. I haven't even let him consider third base."
*Laura* "No way! Really? Are you sure he hasn't been with anyone else?"
*Michelle* "No, he hasn't that was part of the bet. And believe me he did not want to loose that bet at the beginning of all this."
 *Laura* "That's crazy! I cannot believe you managed to manipulate Benjamin like that. He must really love you."
*Michelle* "I know but I have no idea what I'm gonna say to him. I have a feeling he's gonna be calling and texting me tomorrow."

*Laura* "You got to tell him the truth. He has to understand that this relationship started because you were plotting revenge on him and it worked."
*Michelle* "That's sounds so mean."
*Laura* "Well yeah! it's the truth! You have to let him know this. You started off with a huge lie. If you want to be with him at all you have to tell him."
*Michelle* "I do want to be with him. But I'm scared that once I let him he won't be interested in me anymore."
*Laura* "Well, if his feelings are real and he wants to commit, then go for it. If he ends up breaking your heart then he's a total loser and doesn't know what is good for him.
Just sleep on it. I think you'll have a clearer head about this in the morning."

 Laura and Michelle say goodnight to each other. They get comfy and, doze off to sleep. Hopefully Michelle can be brave enough to tell Benjamin the truth....

Halloween Night Part 4...(S3-E5)

The last of the guests to arrive are Kyu and his girlfriend Jasper.

Luke greets them at the door and invites them in. Kyu stops to say hello to Aric and Jasper walks over to say hello to the ladies.

 Luke heads into the kitchen to tell Laura what just happened with Benjamin and the guys.

Back across the room Benjamin offers his seat to Kyu.

*Benjamin* "Kyu, you can take my seat. I'm going outside for a smoke."

*Kyu* "Okay........ hey good to see you." 

*Aric* "Maybe I should go and talk to him."
*Cruz* "No, let him go. He needs sometime to think."
*Aric* "Yeah, you're right. I just hate seeing him so upset."

Luke makes his way back to the living area and Laura gets Michelle's attention and asks her to come over to where she is.

*Laura* "Luke, just told me the guys were hounding Benjamin about the bet he made with you."
*Michelle* "And?...."
*Laura* "Well, apparently he got real upset about it. Because Luke and I just saw him storm out the door. I think you should go and talk to him."
*Michelle* "Why exactly did he get upset? He knows it's just a silly bet."
*Laura* "Just go talk to him.  He looked quite upset and I have never seen him like that before."

While Laura and Michelle have been talking. Benjamin is outside on the front porch wondering what just happened in there and why is everything Cruz said seem to be so true. 

*Benjamin talking to himself* "I can't believe what just happened in there.  What am I doing? Whom am I kidding? And the scariest part is I think Cruz is right. "

Suddenly Benjamin is startled. The door opens and Michelle steps out.

 *Michelle* "Benjamin? Is everything okay? You look very upset and you must be cause you only smoke when something is really stressing you out."
*Benjamin*  "I'm not really up for talking about it right now. You should go back inside and enjoy the party."

Michelle comes up behind him and tries to turn him to face her. 

 *Michelle* "I am not going anywhere until you tell me what's bothering you."

Benjamin takes a step forward to pull away from her touch. 

*Michelle* "You know I'm not leaving till you talk to me. Laura said it had something to do with that silly bet we made but that is all she told me.  At least turn around and face me."

*Michelle* "Talk to me. What happened?"
*Benjamin* "Okay but at least take a seat please. You're making me feel even more nervous."

*Michelle* "Okay......but why are you nervous?"

Benjamin paces the ground in front of her. Trying to find the right words and courage to say it.

*Benjamin* "Ah HELL!,  I'm just gonna say it.
Michelle, I......"

"

*Benjamin * ".....I'm falling in love with you."

Michelle is utterly surprised. She was not expecting him to say that.
She gets up from where she is sitting....

*Michelle* "Did the guys put you up to this try and get me to fold?"
*Benjamin* "No....no! I'm being serious here...."

*Michelle now speechless herself* "Benjamin I..didn't....Are you..."

As she stumbles with her own words. He lets his cigarette fall to the ground and puts it out. 
She looks down at their feet and then back up at him. Then without a word Benjamin pulls her into his body and kisses her hard and long.

Michelle doesn't stop him and finds herself lost in his passionate embrace. When he pulls his lips away from hers she is left breathless.  As they look into each others eyes she can see something there she hadn't noticed before. LOVE.
She panics and pulls away from him.

.

 *Michelle* "Ah crap! Benjamin are you sure..."
*Benjamin cuts her off knowing what she is about to say* "Hey cut me some slack, I'm not playing a game here and the guys didn't put me up to this. I really am falling in love with you.  Can we please just end this childish bet? I want to be with you. I thought you felt the same way?"
*Michelle* "Please don't say that. I don't know what....I.....this is all  just so unexpected....I thought we both agreed this wasn't going to happen."

Benjamin pulls her in closer and turns her around to face him. He holds her gently and stares at with sincerity. 

*Benjamin* "Baby, I love you.  I want to be with you and only you."
*Michelle* "Benjamin, I can't......I just..... can't do this right now."

She pulls away from his arms and turns and just starts walking away.  She doesn't want him to see the horror in her face. This was the plan. She wanted to make him fall for her so hard and then break his heart just like he did to Penelope. Now that it has happened she doesn't know what to do. She doesn't know what to feel or say to him. So she just keeps walking.....

*Benjamin* "Michelle! Wait!...Where are you going? At least let me take you home...."

*Michelle* "No!  I just need to be alone right now. I'll call Penelope and have her pick me up. I'll be fine."

*Benjamin* "Michelle! C'mon don't take off on your own. Just let me take you home. We don't have to talk. I'll just drop you off and go......"

But she doesn't stop.  She just keeps walking and leaves Benjamin there standing alone.
