Honeymoon Highway...(S10-E3)

Baz and Eva fell hard and fast for each other. Baz knew from the minute he laid eyes on Eva, as she danced her way across the stage, she was a force he wouldn't be able to contain, but he damn sure wanted all that energy focused on him and him only. But Eva was off limits so were all the girls. Baz's mother owned and operated the casino which is where most of their business deals went on behind closed doors out of the public eye. The girls and the main business were just a front for what truly went on. That's the way it had always been ever since Baz was a kid.

Then one day a customer got way too friendly with Eva. She had the guy handled, but Baz wasn't about to let this guy think he could ever treat her that way. That was the day Eva knew Baz was not like the rest. He was old school, raised by a mother who loved all things mid century modern, enjoyed the classic eras of the fifties and sixties, chivalry was still a thing, it was when Vegas was in it's hay day and Baz embodied all of it.

Eva was always full of spitfire and spunk. It got her into trouble, and it also got her out of trouble. She may look well put together on the outside, but she is often a mess on the inside. She only had herself to take care of, growing up in Los Angeles, bouncing from foster home to foster home as a kid. She came to rely very much on her self resilient nature, until the day the mysterious Sebastian DeRozan walked into her life.

The two never looked at each other the same way after that day, and it slowly burned into a secret relationship, that eventually forced them to secretly elope...Now they embark as a newly wed couple making their way on a cross country road trip.

"You ready baby doll?..." Bad asks her. "No going back now."

Eva smiles,  "More than ever...As long as I have you."

Baz gets ready to crank the engine over on the old PT cruiser. They decided to take Eva's car on this trip since Baz only has a motorcycle. She senses some tension in him. His mother is not gonna be too happy when she hears he eloped with a dancer from the casino...

"Baz, baby we don't have to go if you don't want to...", sensing his hesitation.

No...I want to go...fuck her if my mother can't see things my way then there is no point in ever going back..."

"What about your father?...", Eva asks.

Baz shrugs, "Then I guess the asshole is on his own too."

"Every family is fucked up at least you got one.", Eva remarks.

"You're all the family I need now, baby doll." Baz croons.

Eva slides her fingers along the tattoo on his neck trying to ease the tension. She knows family is important to him it is one of the reasons they chose this road trip. Baz starts the engine finally and gets ready to pull the car out of the parking lot at Eva's old apartment. Baz is moody with his perpetual pout, but Eva knows that is just the way he is. "Don't worry baby, we'll figure it out. For now let's just get on the open road and clear our minds..."

Eva leans back in her seat, calm and collected as usual on the outside. Baz turns to adjust the mirrors, as he contemplates the highway route they have decided to take on their cross country trip"What was the name of that place in Tucson?..."

"The Tiki motel...", Eva answers back

Baz takes a peek in the side mirror one last time as he turns his back on Las Vegas, his town, his family, his responsibilities, all for the woman who now sits in the car next to him. Those were the last words from his mother...warning him if he goes against her there will be consequences. "That's where we'll stay tonight...Should take us all day to get there."

Eva turns and smiles, "Pedal to the metal baby...I wanna feel the wind in my hair and the hot Arizona sun on my skin..."

Baz flashes her that brooding smile that always makes her weak in the knees. As he gets ready to reverse the car no going back now plans are set in motion.

And with that these two are off on a honeymoon road trip! Stay tuned for more from these two... ^_^
