Happy 4 Years and I'm Still Here!

Exactly four years ago today.  I posted my first blog entry, I cannot believe how time flies by!

It wasn't much but it was a start. I remember at first struggling with dialogue and storyline. As my doll's character's developed it became easier. I have always had a passion, even as a kid, to tell stories with my dolls. My sister and I used to play for hours with our Barbie dolls, and for me it was some of the best memories of my childhood and the toys I had. My favorite Ken was Western Stampin' Ken. I thought he was so handsome in his boots and hat. When I got Luke (aka Captain Jack Sparrow) all those feelings and memories came back and I felt like a kid again with this doll. He is the best Ken doll Mattel has ever produced, I'm so glad I was able to get him, he took my whole dolly world to another level...
Thank you all of you who take the time to read my crazy stories and to those who also take the time to comment about them. I will be back late next month to start the stories again. I really, really needed a break and time to just enjoy my family and get some things done around our house. As much as I love doll collecting and crafting sometimes you need a break from your hobby.

Thank you and see you all next month!

  1. Happy Anniversary, Miranda! I am so happy you're still here and posting. Your stories and doll collection are awesome and so inspiring. Jack Sparrow sent me in a tizzy too, Lol. When I found out he was fully articulate...I had to have him! I missed out on the HD Ken...your Aric but made it my mission to never miss a Ken on an HD body since then. My favs are Jack Sparrow, AA Texas A&M, Japan Ken and Barbie Basic Ken (dark hair.)

Anyway...so glad to be a follower of yours and look forward to seeing you next mon. :-)

  2. Happy blog anniversary! I am always looking forward to your next episode, because I'm really hooked on your stories! Jack Sparrow Ken is definitely the perfect doll for the role of Luke, but all your characters are played by awesome dolls. You're a great story teller, and I hope you'll continue blogging for another 4 years (and more)!

  3. Happy blogger anniversary! I had been worried about you since you had mentioned you had been having some down times, but figured you needed some 'me' time away from the blogging and all. Sometimes we just need to play and not write about it or just need to spend time with our family, no pressure. Some of my happiest times were spent as a child with Mailbu Ken, Barbie and Skipper and PJ- remember this was 1970 something. My favorite was PJ. Ken didn't have articulation back then and now- I love Jack's articulation and agree, he is my favorite all around Ken, I just call him Johnny. My other favorite is the cheerleader Ken too, My Poppy Parker Pillow Talk is in love with him. You are a wonderful storyteller both with words and photos and I can tell how it has developed, you really make the dialogue and story come alive with the posing, props - it all comes into being, very well thought out. I have been attempting to work on that myself with my own dolls . You're a great inspiration for the rest of us!

  4. Happy blogiversary, Miranda! So glad you are still blogging because I just love your story telling. I know you have so many readers that are just waiting for your next episode (including me!) I love the Johnny Depp as Jack Sparrow doll as well. He is also a part of my collection. It is hard for me to give him a persona because I keep thinking of him as your Luke! Looking forward to many more years of blogging from you!

  10. By coincidence, my doll profile Shiny Disco Dolls was opened in august 15 too, but two years earlier on "Orkut", a social network like Facebook, very successful in India and Brasil, but closed in 2013. Congratulations to us! And take your time, but don't abandon us, PLEEEEASE!!!! You have the best doll series I ever read.
